New Gardeners quickly find out that Fungi plays a crucial role in plant live and soil biome. The same is true when it comes to us humans. Fungi are a type of organism that is not classified as plant or animal.

They are a diverse group of organisms that includes yeasts, mushrooms, and molds.

Fungi help the immune system by producing beta-glutans which can be found in many foods such as oats, barley, rye, and wheat. Beta-glutans have been shown to help with autoimmune conditions such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
